Avoid Double Agents
When explaining my policy on Dual Agency to consumers, they often relate past stories of how they felt they had no choice about accepting diminished representation from the real estate licensee, a person in whom they had placed their trust.
When interviewing a New Brunswick real estate licensee one of the first things consumers should inquire about is an explanation of the Agency's policy on dual agency. Most consumers don't know they have the right to receive a disclosure in writing about this.
Consumer, whether selling or buying, you do have choices. You may say "No" to dual agency. It's a matter of trust and loyalty. You have the right to undivided loyalty from your trusted real estate representative.
And of course you may choose no representation whatsoever. The choices are yours to make. Choose wisely.
