Metro Moncton Real Estate Market - New versus Not New
Looking at the "metro" Moncton (here the cities of Moncton and Dieppe as well as the Town of Riverview) real estate market for the first three quarters reveals something interesting when I analyze the unit sales. MLS® unit sales of new construction have held steady for the last five years while the sales of existing residential housing declined last year and has not yet improved thus far this year.
Here are the current number of active MLS® listings that are new construction followed by the reported year-to-date MLS® unit sales in brackets.
Moncton - 207 - [183]
Dieppe - 77 - [114]
Riverview - 28 - [ 45]

Nice chart Larry. Shows things are slowly
improving nicely. Wish I new what was behind Halifax's 3rd quarter slowdown!

It's nice to read stats from other parts of the country. Here in Vancouver housing sales have stabilized a bit after the lows and highs surrounding the recession and the olympics.
